Chobe River Interactive Boat Challenge - "Overcoming Obstacles" - With a habitat from North to Central Africa, the Crocodile (Ngwenya) is respected for its ability to live in the worlds of both water and land. As a crafty & indomitable hunter Ngwenya's image enables the wearer to overcome obstacles and difficulties through adaptability!
The Chobe River forms Botswana's northern border with Namibia and is the Boundary of Southern Africa. The area just up from it's confluence with the Zambezi River in the very North East of Botswana is regarded as one of the World's finest wetland areas, with spectacular game and bird viewing, and an incredible diversity of riverine vegetation.
We explore this unique river in one of the most exciting ways, using speed boats, specifically designed for the varied waterways that we will encounter. Teams, each with their own boat driven by a game ranger, will participate in an adventurous and exciting orienteering programme. With the use of a maps and navigation equipment, prismatic compasses, basic orienteering, guide books etc teams will have to locate specific points, and discover some of the secrets of the Chobe River.
They will learn about the river its bird and wild life.
Teams will have to finish the challenge within the allocated time and return to the finish with all locations found and problems solved.
