Zambezi River Drift

The Mosi Drift - This "safari" takes you on a drift by either inflatable raft or Canadian canoe, down one of the most spectacular waterways in Africa... naturally there are snacks and drinks and a learned guide to compliment the experience.



After passing the more open stretch of water where the Sea Plane "The Catalina" landed in the 1930's and 40's the River spreads out amongst many channels and islands. This was the very same stretch on which Dr Livingstone was paddled by his assistants when he first learnt the meaning of "Mosi oa Tunya" which means literally "The Smoke that Thunders".

The incredible scenery and the shear magnitude, and beauty of the Zambezi River contribute to this unique experience as we navigate the very same path that David Livingstone followed on his approach to discover the Victoria Falls. The teamwork, camaraderie and excitement ingredients, maximised here, are integral to the success of the personal bonding process. Accompanied by a guide in each raft, we enjoy total relaxation whilst drifting with the current along the shaded tree lined banks of the upper Zambezi. This provides fantastic opportunities for special sightings of Game and Birdlife.

The "Mosi Drift" ends a very safe 1 km upstream from the Falls. Here the group is met by the transfer vehicle.
